With the fall migration of pelagic species moving south along the Gulf Coast, it's time to pay as much attention to the top of the water column as to the bottom. Live baits caught on sabiki rigs over hard bottom can be freelined when currents are strong, or fished under floats or fishing kites anytime, to attract blackfin tuna, king mackerel and other speedsters. Put the surface bait rods in a rod holder, and drop cut or live baits to the bottom to double the fun, and food, when fishing over limestone ledges, artificial reefs or offshore wrecks. Randy Durrette's blackfin tuna and kingfish joined grouper and snappers in Saturday's A&B fish box.
