Outdoors Calendar: North Dakota Game and Fish fall Advisory Board meetings begin Nov. 25 - Grand Forks Herald

Park vehicle passes are required for all events at North Dakota and Minnesota state parks. Vehicle passes are $7 daily and $35 annually in both states.

  • Nov. 17: Christmas Open House, 1 to 5 p.m., Icelandic State Park near Cavalier, N.D. The Pioneer Village Heritage Center will be decorated with trees and lights, with a program beginning at 2 p.m. Info: parkrec.nd.gov/events/christmas-open-house.

  • Nov. 23: Wreath-making 101, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Big Bog State Recreation Area, Waskish, Minn. Registration due by Nov. 6; $10 materials fee. Call the park at (218) 647-8592 to register. Info: Christa Drake, (218) 308-2328 or by email at christa.drake@state.mn.us.

  • Dec. 6-7: 41st annual Snowmobile North Dakota State Convention, Cobblestone Inn and Suites, 1109 11th St. E., Bottineau, N.D. Registration: $85 adults, $50 youth. Register online at snowmobilebottineau.com. Info: Paula, (701) 263-4076.

  • Dec. 7: Trail Trekkers Hike, 10 a.m., Turtle River State Park, 3084 Park Ave., Arvilla, N.D. Meet at the playground parking log. Leashed pets welcome, vehicle passes required. Info: (701) 795-3180.

  • Dec. 14: Wreath-making 101, Lake Bemidji State Park, 10 miles north of Bemidji off U.S. Highway 71 N. Morning session 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., afternoon session 1 to 3 p.m.; limit of 20 people per session. Registration required by Nov. 26; $10 materials fee; call the park at (218) 308-2300 to register.   • Dec. 14: Trail Trekkers Hike, 10 a.m., Turtle River State Park, 3084 Park Ave., Arvilla, N.D. Meet at the chalet parking lot. Leashed pets welcome, vehicle passes required. Info: (701) 795-3180.

  • Dec. 15: Kids’ activity, “Gifts from Nature,” 1 to 2 p.m., Big Bog State Recreation Area near Waskish, Minn. Participants will make two kinds of gifts in the Visitor Center: one gift for nature and one to take home. Kids of all ages are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult. Info: (218) 647-8592.

The Game and Fish Department hosts these meetings every spring and fall in each of the state’s eight Advisory Board districts. Fall meets are as follows:

  • Nov. 25: District 3 (Benson, Cavalier, Eddy, Ramsey, Rolette and Towner counties), 7 p.m., Fire Hall, 501 Main St., Munich, N.D. Contact: Heather Barker, (701) 317-4390.
