The Hawaii-based company, Kampachi Farms, wants to place a pen with 20,000 fish about 45 miles off the coast of Sarasota. They say it would collect data for commercial farming and harvest about 80,000 fish. But many say it would contribute to harmful algal blooms like red tide.
