Hermosa Beach Fish Shop, co-owned by KTLA Meteorologist Vera Jimenez, has closed its doors for good - The Daily Breeze

The Hermosa Beach Fish Shop on Pier Avenue is no longer serving up chowder and fish tacos.

In a statement, part-owner and KTLA Meteorologist Vera Jimenez said after more than five years in business that the time had come to close shop.

“We have been blessed to meet so many people in the community that we may never have met without the restaurant,” said Jimenez in a statement. “We want to thank all of our customers, employees, suppliers and friends for helping make this a great run.”

No specific reason was given why the owners decided to close.

The restaurant, on upper Pier Avenue in the Vons shopping plaza, opened in 2014. Its walk-up counter and wide variety of fresh fish that could be made into a taco, a platter or salad made the restaurant a favorite of locals for a quick, but tasty lunch or dinner.

Jimenez said their recipes can still be found at their partner’s locations in Pacific Beach, Encinitas and Point Loma.
